Who we are

The Lambda Coalition is a youth organisation dedicated to spreading awareness of LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and other gender/sexual minorities) issues, especially among younger generations. All of our core members are high school students who all share an active interest in the LGBTQ+ community and strive to create a safer and more welcoming world for gender and sexual minorities. We welcome people of all sexual orientation, gender, religion, race and nationality to take part and join our cause!

About Us

Who are we?

Our main goals are to spread awareness of LGBTQ+ topics and issues among the younger generations, create a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth to interact, and incentivise discussions among LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide. We have weekly blogs written by our staff, free online seminars and discussions, as well as offline events like fundraisers and exhibitions.

Why Lambda?

Lambda (λ) is the 11th letter in the Greek alphabet. Its connections with the LGBTQ community and gay rights movement started in 1970 when Tom Doerr used it as the symbol of the New York chapter of the Gay Activists Alliance (lambda is used to designate "kinetic potential" in scientific contexts). Since then, it has been used as a LGBTQ symbol around the world.

How can you help?

Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
